Wildland FF Class

On 3/31/10, our regularly scheduled drill night, crews refreshed their skills on wildland firefighting. Lt. Morris begun the night with a power point presentation followed by hands on practical evolutions. The night was capped off with annual fire shelter training. If a firefighter is trapped during a fire and cannot escape, a shelter can be deployed for protection. A PPV fan was used to simulate conditions during a wildland fire when a shelter would need to be deployed.

Wate Rescue for the First Responder

On Wednesday, February 17th, Scott Davis from the Fame Fire Company ((Fame Fire Comapny)) came to our weekly drill night to teach, “Water Rescue for the First Responder” (Awareness Level)
Classroom material covered throughout the drill was scene assessment, evaluation of potential water hazards, scene management, and personal safety measures when dealing with a rescue or recovery incident.
