On Saturday, March 20th, members of the First West Chester Fire Company traveled to the West Whiteland Fire company for a stand-by while they attended their annual banquet.
Engine 51-2, lead by Lt. 51 (K.Green) and seven other firefighters arrived in Exton at 17:00hrs.
At 19:48, Engine 51-2 was dispatched to 751 E Lancaster Ave for a reported brush fire.
Engine 51-2 quickly went enroute and was advised from the Chester County Fire Board of multiple calls reporting a brush fire. Engine 51-2 requested Brush 5 be added to the call. Asst. 6 (M. Koenig) went responding and arrived with 51-2 and established Route 30 command. A large area of 100’ x 100’ was burning when units arrived. Station 5 was added to the call as it was determined to be in their local. Engine 51-2 pulled two hand lines. Engine 5-5 supplied water to Engine 51-2 and Tac 4 and Brush 5 assisted with fire suppression. Units cleared at 20.56hrs.
Engine 51-2 was released from Exton around 23:00hrs.
Station 51 would like to thank the members of Station 6 for their hospitality and dinner and we hope you enjoyed your banquet.
