On Wednesday evening, April 11, Chester County Fire Task Force 1 was again requested to respond to the woods fire at French Creek State Park for structure protection. Brush 51 was already enroute to the fire as part of the DCNR District 17 wildland crew.
Engines 51-2, 52-2, 2-2, and 5-5, responded to the ICP and were briefed on the planned night operations. Brush 51 and another forestry vehicle were detailed to the Task Force to assist with any spot fires.
The Task Force engines spread out in driveways along St. Peter's Road where they monitored for fire spread and insured the integrity of the dozer lines. The crews worked from 1800 hours to 0600 hours the next morning without incident.
