| The First West Chester Fire Company has always taken pride in the successful accomplishments of its members. As a 100% volunteer organization, First West Chester's members work or attend school full time in addition to the countless hours they spend at emergencies, training, and other interactions with the community. It is this dedication, selflessness, and pride, which is promoted in the volunteer fire service and, to that account, Firefighter Scott Joblin is no exception.
Scott joined First West Chester in 1997. Since that time, he has played a very active role within the company and the department. Scott also worked at Good Fellowship Ambulance as a part-time supervisor and later as a volunteer EMT/Driver. At First West Chester Scott served as trustee as well as Engineer, Lieutenant, and Captain. Most recently, Scott served on the Board of Directors for the West Chester Fire Department Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association and was on First West Chester's Building Committee.
In March, Scott received word from his employer, State Farm, that he was receiving a promotion and becoming "upper level" management. While this promotion is a wonderful advance for Scott's career, it unfortunately required him to move. On June 11th Scott, his wife Deb (Sal), and their dogs Mandy and Daisy, made the drive from West Chester to Little Rock, Arkansas where they will settle into their new home.
Scott was a huge asset to First West Chester. Whether it was his leadership on the fire ground or at training, Scott was there with knowledge and input. He was always striving to make First West Chester's firefighters to be knowledgeable but to not over think, to be aggressive but safe.
The citizens of the greater West Chester Area were lucky to have Scott as an emergency services provider. The Officers and Members of The First West Chester Fire Company wish Scott and Deb good luck with their new home and their new jobs. They will both be missed but will always be a part of the First West Chester family. |
