Shortly after 3pm Station 52 (Goodwill Fire Company) and Brush 51 were dispatched to Route 202 Northbound South of the Route 3 exit for a brush fire. Initial callers reported multiple fires along a 1/4 mile section of Route 202. Chief 53 arrived on location quickly confirming the location and located 4-5 50' x 100' areas of brush burning between the highway and a nearby cemetery. Chief 53 quickly requested an additional brush truck due to the size of the fire. Engines from 51, 52, 53 worked together with Tanker 52, Brush 51 and Brush 06 (West Whiteland Fire Company) to control and extinguish the fire.
Route 202 northbound had to be shut down for a short time due to firefighting operations. Once the fire was extinguished and crews cleaned up the highway was reopened and all units returned available.
