On Sunday at 1303 hours Engine Co. 51 was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Adams Street in the Borough to assist Engine Co. 52 and Ladder 53 on a dwelling fire. Chief 51 arrived onscene with smoke showing from a 3 story, middle of the group row home. Engine 52-2 arrived and stretched an 1 3/4 handline while Ladder 53 opened up and performed a primary search. Engine 51-1 arrived, stood-by at the hydrant, and sent their manpower up to pull a backup line to check the exposure dwellings for extension.
A small fire was located under the basement steps and extinguished promptly. Additional WCFD apparatus arrived and assisted with overhaul and clean up. All units cleared at 1427 hours. The fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals office.
