The Firehouse
In August of 1989, the First West Chester Fire Company moved from its historic building on S. Church Street in the Borough to our current location at 70 S. Bradford Avenue in East Bradford Township. The six acre property is well suited to meet the needs of the fire company and its members. On the property sits a four-bay engine room, administrative building, a small storage garage, a large 2 bay garage, and ample parking.
In 2012, the company broke ground on a new, larger, and more modern administrative building. The new building includes larger offices for the line officers and administration, a recreation room, meeting room, kitchen, fitness room, quiet or study room, a bunk room, and showers with a locker room. It also includes a new communications room and "clean" engineer's room on the engine room level.
The company also maintains an emergency back-up generator to provide power to the buildings in the event of a PECO power outage, 2 lawn tractors to help maintain the grounds, and a picnic area for members.
