This morning just at 5:43 AM the West Chester Borough Fire Department, Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Chester Borough Police Department were dispatched to a report of smoke in the building at a property in the 50 block of Patton Alley, West Chester Borough.

As the first chief officers arrived the incident was upgraded to a building fire with entrapment. Crews found heavy smoke and fire conditions inside the building while searching for the victim. The victim was located, removed from the property and transported to a local hospital by EMS.

Sadly the victim died from injuries sustained in the fire. Our thoughts are with the family during this time.
The department operated at the scene until 12:00 PM and a few emergency responders received minor injuries during the incident.
The incident is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Also assisting the WCFD were the West Whiteland Fire Company, Goshen Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company, Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company, Downingtown Fire Department, Uwchlan Ambulance Corps and Fire Police from surrounding areas.
