At 1803 hours on July 6, Stations 51, 53, and Air 52 were dispatched for a house fire in the 600 Block of Shropshire Drive in East Bradford Township. Calls to Chester County 911 reported a deck on fire at an unknown address with fire extending to the residence. Assistant 51 arrived on scene and reported a 2 ½ story, middle of the row, with a small fire on side C. Chief 51 arrived and established the "Shropshire Command".

Engine 51-2 quickly arrived and was able to extinguish the remaining fire and check for extension. Quick thinking by neighbors using a garden hose prevented the fire from spreading rapidly. The fire affected two units with minor smoke and fire damage.
West Chester Fire Department units cleared the scene within an hour.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental.
