House Fire - West Chester Borough

At approximately 8:20 AM this morning, the West Chester Borough Fire Department along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Whiteland Fire Company were alerted for a house fire in the 500 block of West Market Street, West Chester Borough.
Assistant 51 (McClure) arrived on scene reporting a light smoke condition visible from outside the property. After further investigation a fire was located inside the kitchen.

Assistant 52 (DiMeo) arrived at the scene and assumed command.
WCFD volunteers arrived extinguishing the fire and ventilated the property. One person was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and a family dog was rescued from the property.

The incident is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office.
All units cleared the scene at 9:30 AM.
