East Bradford Township, PA - November 20, 2022

West Chester University South Campus Apartments - 800 block of South Campus Dr.
Just after 9:30 PM, the WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute and West Whiteland Fire Company were dispatched to the South Campus Apartments, 800 block of South Campus Drive, East Bradford Township, for a report of smoke inside the building.

Assistant 51 (McClure) arrived and assumed command while Chief 51 (Pelna) arrived assuming division 1. Crews reported a smoke condition inside while exterior crews reported smoke from the eaves of the building.

Additional units from West Bradford Fire Co. and Goshen Fire Company were dispatched to assist at the incident.
Evacuated students were moved from the outside cold temperatures into a community meeting facility in the complex.
Crews quickly located the source as a fire in a electrical panel which was out. The power to the entire building was secured and no further hazard was located.

All units cleared at 10:48 PM.
WCFD was also assisted by the Chester County Fire Marshall’s Office and West Chester University Police.
