On Monday June 27th, just after 8pm Company 59 along with mutual aid were dispatched to a residential dwelling fire in Birmingham Township. As units responded Chester County radio reported Police were on location with a working fire. Deputy 59 arrived and confirmed the report. Engine 251 took the driveway laying a supply line up to the house, Engine 592, Engine 512, Engine 53, and Tanker 25 completed the water supply assignment for the attack engine. Multiple hose lines were deployed on the Single Family Dwelling along with search crews and ventilation crews. Due to the outside temperature and humidity, a second alarm was struck for additional manpower and resources to assist with suppression and overhaul efforts. Fire was placed under control within 2 hours and all units were clear around midnight. One firefighter was transported with a non life threatening medical issue. Assistant Chief O’Brien had the Birmingham command, Deputy Chief Vasek had operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Birmingham Township Fire Marshals office.
