West Chester Borough, PA - December 3, 2021

At approximately 10:30 on December 3, 2021, the WCFD along with Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute were dispatched for a gas leak in the 50 block of North Wayne Street, West Chester Borough.

Crews arrived to find a contractor struck a six inch gas main in the street causing the leak. As a precaution area residents were evacuated to a temporary shelter until the leak could be contained.

At 12:30 PM the incident was turned over to PECO response crews and the evacuation order was lifted.

WCFD was assisted by West Chester Borough Police Department, Chester County Department of Emergency Services along with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
