Just before 6:30 pm on New Years Day, the West Chester Fire Department and Good Fellowship EMS were dispatched to the 200 block of Blue Rock Road in East Bradford Township for a house fire. The 911 caller reported a significant amount of smoke in the attic and a burning smell. An additional call to 911 reported fire through the roof. Assistant 51 arrived on location and confirmed the callers report. The Working Fire Dispatch was transmitted adding additional resources from the Goshen Fire Company for the Rapid Intervention Team.

Engine 51-2 arrived as the first due engine, laid a supply line up the driveway, and began an interior fire attack on the first floor. Crews located a fire in the attic space and extinguished the same. Additional arriving units assisted with fire suppression and overhaul. The fire was placed under control at 7:02 pm. Investigators from the Chester County Fire Marshals Office responded.

Thank you to West Whiteland, Lionville, and West Bradford Fire Companies for standing by in the Borough.
