The Officers and Members of the First West Chester Fire Company join our brothers and sisters at the Good Will Fire Company #2 of West Chester in mourning the passing of Robert 'Hoofy' Doan. Hoofy was a member of the Department for over 47 years and a friend to firefighters across the County.

A past Assistant Chief of the Department, Hoofy instilled in all he encountered the brotherhood of the fire service and a 'can do' attitude. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a stranger in a time of need. Even more so, Hoofy took pride in educating and mentoring the next generation of firefighters, passing on his almost five decades of experience.

We will forever owe Hoofy a debt of gratitude and will honor his memory each time the bell rings.

A vital part of the "first on the scene with the fire machine" crew.
Thanks for the posting. Hoof was a fine person and a dedicated firefighter!
