Just after 9am Station 52 was dispatched to the area of North Adams Street and East Chestnut Street for a truck fire. Initial calls stated a fire from the back of a trash truck. Chief 53 arrived to find that a trash truck had dumped his load of burning recycling in the roadway. Due to the proximity of the fire to nearby buildings Chief 53 requested the Building Fire assignment.

Engine 51-2 arrived and assisted Engine 52-2 with fire suppression efforts. The remaining WCFD units with the support of a West Chester Borough backhoe were able to spread out the pile and extinguish all remaining fire.

Units cleared and returned available around 10:30am.
