Brush Fire in Thornbury Township

At 1232 hours on March 12th, Station 53 and Brush 51 were dispatched to the 200 block of Greentree Drive in Thornbury Township. An area of brush was to the rear of a residence was reported to be on fire. Assistant 53 arrived to find a large area of brush on fire which was started by a controlled burn. Brush 51 arrived and began to contain the fire. The fire was placed under control by Chief 53 at 1255 hours with additional crews from Stations 51 and 53 assisting in extinguishment and mop-up.

West Chester units cleared the scene at 1330 hours.

Remember before performing an controlled burning to check with the local municipality about specific rules and regulations.
