The Passing of Past Assistant Chief James Heal

It is with deep regret that the Officers and Members of the First West Chester Fire Company announce the passing of past Assistant Chief James "Jimmy" Heal, age 74. James passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Rosebud County Health Care center in Montana after a battle with cancer.

Jimmy joined the First West Chester Fire Company in 1963. He was active with both the firefighting and marching unit as well as a member of the Honor Guard. He was also an instructor with the Chester County Fire School in Thorndale, Chester County for several years. Jimmy held several positions with the Company during his active years including Engineer, Chief Engineer (changed to the officer of Captain), and finally serving as Assistant Chief from 1982 to 1986. Just prior to his death, Jimmy celebrated 50 years as a member of First West Chester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First West Chester Fire Company or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
