Shortly after 1pm Station 53 and Brush 51 were dispatched to the area of Cheney Road and East Street Road for a possible brush fire. Initial reports were for an unsupervised controlled burn to the rear of a residence in that area. Police were first on location and were able to provide a more exact location. Chief 53 arrived and found a 20 ft x 20 ft burn pile that had become out of control. Crews from Brush 51 and Engine 53 extinguished the fire for the residents.

All residents are reminded to check your local township burn ordinances prior to burning. This includes; campfires, burn pits, bon-fires, brush burning ect. Be sure to know the law and inform the proper authorities prior to burning.
