As many Chester County residents are aware, shortly after 5pm the Southeast PA region was impacted by a strong line of thunderstorms. These storms left many trees uprooted, branches broken, and thousands without power for days. The West Chester area was especially hit hard with the countless trees down blocking roadways as evidence.

The First West Chester Fire Company responded to nearly a dozen calls for service during the storm and the hours to follow. These calls included, trees onto houses, trees onto vehicles, wires down calls, as well as fires created by downed live electrical lines. Crews from the entire West Chester Fire Department worked late into the night and were even still responding to storm related incidents well into Wednesday morning.

**As a reminder to all West Chester Residents, treat all downed electrical lines as if they are live. Please DO NOT CALL 911 to report power outages. All power outages should be directed to PECO at 1-800 841-4141**
