Just after 0700 Stations 51, 52 (Goodwill Fire Company), 53 (Fame Fire Company), and Ladder 56 (Goshen Fire Company) were dispatched to the 700 Block of South Church Street at West Chester University for a Building Fire. The initial report was smoke coming from a mechanical closet. Asst 53 arrived first on location followed by Engine 51-1 and Engine 53. The cause of the smoke was determined to be a malfunction with a generator in the lower level of the building. After ventilation was completed the incident was cleared.

Not much later, shortly after 0800, Station 51 was dispatched to assist the Downingtown Fire Department as R.I.T for a mobile home fire. FM40 quickly arrived on location with fire showing from a single wide trailer. Engine 51-2 responded and immediately upon arrival was stood down as R.I.T and put to work with overhaul operations. Units operated on location for approx half an hour before clearing and returning to West Chester.

Crews also responded to an automatic fire alarm in the 300 block of West Gay Street as well as a tree branch on wires at the intersection of Birmingham Road and Lenape Road.
