This morning shortly before 0700 stations 51,53 and 55 Ambulance were dispatched to the 500 block of River Bend Lane in East Bradford Township for a reported house fire. Reporting party was stating that the kitchen was on fire. Officers from the West Chester Police Department were quickly on location and able to confirm a working fire in the rear of the structure. The police also relayed that the home sat approximately 2000 feet off the main roadway.

Assistant 51 was first to arrive on location confirming a working fire with a 20' by 20' home on stilts "well off".

**Homes in this area are built on approximately 10' high stilts due to flooding in the area**

Engine 51-1 (Captain Green) laid supply hose from the hydrant at River Bend Lane and Lenape Road. Due to the length of the roadway an additional engine was required to complete the lay. Crews from 51-1 stretched an 1 3/4" attack line and began an aggressive interior attack on the fire. Additional crews from 51, 52, 53, and 39 worked together to mitigate the incident and bring the fire under control.

Special Thanks to Ladder 25 and Engine 46-2 for covering the Borough during the incident.
