  Welcome to the Official Website for the First West Chester Fire Company

The First West Chester Fire Company is one of three 100% volunteer fire companies that make the West Chester Fire Department. The Station is located at South Bradford Avenue and West Miner Street in East Bradford Township.  The First West Chester Fire Company provides fire/rescue coverage to West Chester Borough, as well as West Goshen, East Bradford, Westtown, Birmingham, and Thornbury Townships. As the oldest company in the West Chester Fire Department, our volunteer organization has been proudly serving our communities since 1799.

Just before 8:30 pm while members were attending their weekly training night, a reported kitchen fire was dispatched in the 100 block of East Miner Street in West Chester Borough. Initial calls reported a fire on the stove-top. WCFD units arrived quickly to locate a working kitchen fire with "hoarding-like" conditions throughout the structure. Shortly after noon multiple calls were received to the Chester County 911 center for a reported crash involving a tractor trailer in the area of Rt 202 and S Matlack Street in West Goshen Township. Callers reported an overturned tractor trailer on fire with a vehicle possibly underneath the tractor. WCFD units along with mutual aid arrived to find a multi-vehicle collision involving fire. Just before 7pm Station 51 was dispatched to the 100 block of West Barnard Street for the reported fire alarm. Initial notes indicated a fire alarm activated by burnt food. Engine 51-1 arrived to find a working fire in the kitchen which had extended into an exterior wall. The incident was upgraded adding the remainder of W.C.F.D as well as Tower 54 and EMS. High Lift Fire in the Borough

Around 2 PM while WCFD units were clearing a reported Gas Leak Inside in the 800 block of Pump House Road in Thornbury Township, crews were dispatched to the 200 block of North High Street for an "unknown piece of equipment" on fire. Just before 0730 on September 16, Station 51 was alerted for an automatic fire alarm in the 100 block of W Lafayette Street in West Chester Borough. Additional calls to Chester County 911 reported an odor of smoke in the building. An upgrade was requested adding the balance of the Department.
