  Welcome to the Official Website for the First West Chester Fire Company

The First West Chester Fire Company is one of three 100% volunteer fire companies that make the West Chester Fire Department. The Station is located at South Bradford Avenue and West Miner Street in East Bradford Township.  The First West Chester Fire Company provides fire/rescue coverage to West Chester Borough, as well as West Goshen, East Bradford, Westtown, Birmingham, and Thornbury Townships. As the oldest company in the West Chester Fire Department, our volunteer organization has been proudly serving our communities since 1799.

Working Fire Box 53-09

On Sunday, June 9, the WCFD was dispatched just after 1pm to the 900 block of Norwood Road in Westtown Township for a reported house fire. Initial callers reported flames from the roof with a vehicle in the driveway. Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police were quickly on location confirming "heavy fire". Major Gas Leak in the Borough

Just before 11am, WCFD crews were dispatched to assist PECO in the 200 block of West Miner Street for a gas leak. PECO crews had an odor of natural gas in the area with high levels of natural gas inside multiple homes in the block. Parking Garage Vehicle Fire

On Friday, June 23, just after 1830 hours, Station 51 was dispatched for a reported vehicle fire on the 5th floor of Chester County Justice Center Parking garage in the 200 block of W Market Street, West Chester Borough. Calls to Chester County 911 reported a fire in the engine compartment of a pickup truck. Assistant 51 and Engine 51-2 arrived shortly after dispatch confirming the report.

Commercial Building Fire

Just before 1pm WCFD units were dispatched to the 200 block of Carter Drive in West Goshen Township for a reported chimney fire. Chief 53, Asst 53, and Rescue 53 were clearing from a residential rescue call and responded immediately. The incident was upgraded to a building fire with reports of fire from the roof. WCFD assists on 3 Alarm Fire

Just before 5 pm, after a strong line of thunderstorms moved through the region, Station 51 was dispatched for and Engine to assist Station 36 (Po-mar-lin Fire Company) on the 2nd Alarm assignment for a working house fire. Station 51 was staffed for the storm and crews responded immediately. Multiple WCFD units ultimately responded as the incident was raised to a 3rd alarm. Crews assisted with ...
