At 3:51 pm, the West Chester Fire Department and Good Fellowship EMS where dispatched for a house fire, reported as black smoke from the back and basement windows. West Chester PD units arrived and advised of an active fire. The assignment was upgraded to a working fire dispatch by Chief 52. Engine 51-2 arrived, laying in from Birmingham Road and Reginmental Drive, and reported a two story single family dwelling with smoke showing on all divisions. West Chester PD reported no one was home but that there was a possibility of two dogs in side.

The crew from Engine 51-2 initiated an offensive attack, entering the walkout basement on side C. The crew encountered high heat and located a fire in the middle area of the basement. Ladder 53 arrived immediately behind Engine 51-2 and began a search of the first floor. Additional arriving WCFD units assisted with checking for extension and overhaul. The dogs were determined to not be in the residence at the time of the fire.

The Chester County Fire Marshals responded to investigate the cause of the fire.

Thank you to the mutual aid companies who assisted at the scene as well as provided coverage for the rest of the area.
