This afternoon First West Chester Volunteers were dispatched to the intersection of W. Gay and N. High Streets for the reported bus fire. Engine 51-2 arrived in under 2 minutes from dispatch along with Assistant 52 who reported flames from the top of the bus. Engine 51-2’s crew stretched an 1 3/4” handline to the interior of the bus where they located fire in the ceiling. Crews quickly brought the fire under control. Engine 51-1 also made the response and assisted with overhaul.
