As we move into the first week of 2018, the Officers and Members of the First West Chester Fire Company would like to take a moment and reflect on 2017. There were changes, challenges, and numerous success throughout the year. Members spent countless hour responding to incidents, participating in training, and attending community events.

One of the most notable occurrences of 2017 was call volume. First West Chester volunteers were dispatched to 612 incidents, which was 100 more incidents than 2016. Those responses included fire alarms, structure fires, carbon monoxide incidents, vehicle accidents, rescues, and medical calls.

Finally as 2017 came to a close, Chief Mike McDonald of Station 53 completed his three year term as Chief of the Department. Chief Jonathan Stafford, from Station 52, took office on Saturday, December 30 and will serve as the department's chief for the next three years. We thank Past Chief McDonald for his time and dedication as a chief officer in the West Chester Fire Department for the last twelve years and wish much success to Chief Stafford.
