Working Fire Box 51-01

Just before 7pm Station 51 was dispatched to the 100 block of West Barnard Street for the reported fire alarm. Initial notes indicated a fire alarm activated by burnt food. Engine 51-1 arrived to find a working fire in the kitchen which had extended into an exterior wall. The incident was upgraded adding the remainder of W.C.F.D as well as Tower 54 and EMS. The fire was quickly extinguished, overhaul was preformed, and the scene was turned over to investigators. Units cleared just before 9pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshals Office.
